As a Manager on Stern Cohen’s Accounting Services team, Yash supports business owners with their year-end, tax, and advisory needs, always looking for ways to add value and help people make sense of their finances. With accounting designations in Canada, India, and Australia, Yash brings an international perspective and strong technical foundation to every engagement.

Yash joined Stern Cohen in 2022 as a Senior Accountant and became a Manager in 2025. He is known for his attention to detail, reliability, and calm, thoughtful approach. He takes pride in being someone both clients and colleagues can count on—whether answering questions, troubleshooting an issue, or providing guidance on a complex file.

Outside the office, Yash is a huge cricket fan. While he doesn’t get to play as often as he’d like, he enjoys watching matches and keeping up with the sport. You’ll also find him exploring new spots around Toronto or hiking in the great outdoors.

What attracted you to public accounting?

I was introduced to public accounting early on because my dad runs his own firm in Mumbai. Growing up around the profession, I developed a natural interest in the work and the impact it can have. Because of that exposure, I always saw myself pursuing a career in public accounting.

What’s different about Stern Cohen?

For me, it’s the people. Everyone here has been really supportive, and I love that I can just walk into anyone’s office with a question and they’ll take the time to help. It makes the whole environment feel collaborative and welcoming.

Favourite saying, book or life experience?

One of my favourite teachings comes from the Bhagavad Gita. It says that we have the right to perform our work, but not to the results of our actions. I try to live by this idea—focusing on giving my best in everything I do, without being overly attached to the outcome. It helps me stay grounded and keep learning, no matter the situation.
