Vivian Lam, CPASenior Manager, Not-for-Profit FIT Practice
As Senior Manager for our Not-for-Profit Practice, Vivian brings deep experience from both large and mid-size accounting firms. Early on in her accounting career, she realized her passion for working with not-for-profit organizations and charities. As a result, Vivian decided to become a nonprofit specialist. Stern Cohen is thrilled to have Vivian join our not-for-profit specialist team!
Vivian earned a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Finance degree at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). She achieved her CPA designation in 2019.
Outside of work, Vivian’s dream is to explore the world. She loves camping and especially hiking on mountains. To date, two of her favourite hiking destinations are Switzerland and Italy.
Why did you choose Stern Cohen?
It’s the people – like Laura Gay and her team. Laura got the entire Nonprofit team involved in my interview! Normally you’re only interviewed by the person you will report to. This “team” interview approach was unique and showed Stern Cohen leadership values their team and their team’s perspectives. That really appeals to me.
What’s rewarding about being a not-for-profit accounting specialist?
Being able to make a difference to nonprofits and charities by helping them achieve their goals and missions. I also love the variety of clients I get to work with. Every day is a new adventure!
