Rakshit Upadhyay, CPA

Rakshit provides specialized tax expertise for Stern Cohen’s staff and clients.

Rakshit graduated from the University of Toronto in 2017 with a Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in Public Accounting, and earned his CPA designation in 2021. Subsequently, he attended U of T’s Rotman School of Management completing their CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). In 2022, Rakshit completed CPA Canada’s In-depth Tax Course.

After gaining experience at several accounting firms in the Greater Toronto Area, Rakshit is excited to work with Stern Cohen’s business owner client base. He likes public accounting for its dynamic, ever-changing nature: “I’m constantly learning and the opportunity to help so many people is rewarding.”

As a consultant with our tax specialist team, Rakshit provides important guidance and support across the firm. Rakshit also contributes to tax articles and resources featured on our website.

A bit of a homebody, Rakshit enjoys the high jinx of his two Maine Coon cats (Moki and Daffodil). He’s also done his share of travelling. Highlights include Japan and Malaysia, where he has the chance to spend time with his wife’s family, as well as experience the culture and cuisine. You might also find him playing badminton, hiking or trying out a new video game.

What’s different about Stern Cohen?

I appreciate Stern Cohen’s friendly culture. It’s a great fit for me. Everyone is really helpful and easy to work with. In addition, a lot of emphasis is put on responsiveness and client satisfaction. I think that’s rare, yet important.

What do your clients or co-workers appreciate about you?

I’m reasonable and I try to help out wherever I can. People value that. Given my career development in the industry, I understand different perspectives.  I’ve been in their shoes and that helps.
