Stern Cohen is thrilled to announce that Assurance Manager Laura Gay, CPA, CA has been appointed to the Board of Directors of ALS Canada.
“We are very proud of Laura’s achievements. As manager of Stern Cohen’s nonprofit team, Laura already provides guidance and support to many GTA nonprofits and charities. She is quickly becoming an industry expert, speaking at conferences and leading seminars. This new commitment will allow her even greater insight into the needs of charitable organizations” says Stern Cohen Managing Partner Michael McCleave.
According to ALS Canada’s CEO, there was a very strong response from many capable and dedicated people to their recent call for new directors. Laura submitted an application detailing her interest and sector experience and then went through a series of interviews before being selected.
Laura says: “As a practicing public accountant, I have strong expertise in finance and accounting, especially within the nonprofit/charity realm. In fact, I have chosen to specialize in the nonprofit industry because I’m passionate about making positive change in our society. To that end, I am honored to play a lead role at such an important Canadian charity.”
