Katarina Hedler, CPA

Stern Cohen is thrilled to welcome Katarina to our leadership team as an Assurance Manager. Starting at Stern Cohen as a Staff Accountant, she was initially promoted to Senior and then to Manager.

Katarina’s outgoing and vibrant personality is evident in her strong contribution to firm life. She fearlessly leads the Social Responsibility Committee and provides training and guidance to Stern Cohen’s senior and junior staff. Her clients range from real-estate, industrial, and retail companies to not-for-profit organizations.

While Katarina now calls Toronto home, she has also lived in Rockwood, White Rock, and Victoria. She moved to Toronto in 2018 to begin her accounting career and reconnect with her Ontario roots.

Katarina successfully completed her CPA designation in 2021. She has also completed an undergraduate degree in Economics and Business from the University of Victoria and a post-degree diploma in Accounting.

She is grateful to Stern Cohen’s supportive environment for working with her to achieve her growth potential. She appreciates everyone at the firm for always made the time to train, mentor, and provide advice on career progression.

Outside of work, Katarina enjoys time with friends and her friendly rescue dog, Lizzie. She is an avid reader and loves sailing, skiing, and tennis. Since moving to Toronto, she has started playing golf and curling, and always has her kitchen stocked with butter tarts and maple cookies. She also now owns a pair of skates and feels very Canadian.

What is the most rewarding thing about being an accountant?

For me, the most rewarding thing about being an accountant is the ability to connect with people from various backgrounds. I love interacting with my clients and working together to ensure their needs are met.
