As previous Managing Partner, Jim brings experience and leadership to the team at Stern Cohen. Having been with the firm since 1969, he is a long-standing member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Generations of families and family business have looked to Jim for guidance through all their financial needs. He is conscientious towards all clients, addressing each of their problems — tax, financial and otherwise, with care.
A Partner since 1981, he has vast experience in providing comprehensive service to owner-managed businesses. He has extensive knowledge in areas such as:
Jim is also a leader outside of his work. He has spent time coaching community sports teams in hockey, baseball and softball. He is also a long-time fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
When not in the office, Jim can be found battling it out in a game of racquetball, or wakeboarding at his cottage with any of his 10 grandchildren.
There have been many special achievements during my career. Often they are as a result of successful negotiations on a client acquisition, management succession takeover, or a successful divestiture to secure one’s retirement.
