Elaine is a proud member of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Ontario with over 6 years of accounting experience. She has worked at a large national firm as a Senior Accountant focusing on audit and assurance for public companies, and also at smaller accounting firms.
As a mid-sized firm, Stern Cohen is just the right fit! Elaine joined Stern Cohen in 2019 so that she could focus on the privately-held business sector. She enjoys working with business owners and providing helpful and reliable service. Based on her varied experiences in public accounting, Elaine has developed strong knowledge in the following verticals:
- transportation and logistics
- construction
- manufacturing
- leasing and financing
Graduating from the University of Toronto in 2014 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Elaine opted for an Accounting Specialization and Economics Major. She graduated with High Distinction and was named to the U of T Dean’s Honour Roll each year.
When she is not at the office, Elaine is an active networker who can be found at business and cultural events across Toronto. You might see Elaine carrying her pink yoga mat or singing karaoke with friends. Her favourite song is “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson.

I’m always willing to listen and discuss matters directly with my clients in order to better understand and plan for their needs. Wherever possible, I make recommendations to help with their preservation and growth goals. Providing quality and reliable service are key values for me.
What’s the most rewarding thing about being an accountant?
I believe that accountants are the first port of call when a business wants to pivot, grow, downsize or sell. Accountants provide strong value as a constant source of advice and support. It’s exciting to play such a pivotal role in our clients’ professional lives. Growing every client’s business is my ultimate goal!
